This would bring an end to the series with its seventh season. On July 19, 2018, it was announced at an SDCC panel that The Clone Wars would be brought back with 12 new episodes for Disney's upcoming streaming service, Disney+.
The entirety of the season was aired exclusively on Netflix until it was released on DVD on November 11, 2014. On March 7, 2014, the first episode of the sixth season was aired on Netflix. However, the Clone Wars team continued to develop the unreleased Clone Wars arcs as bonus content to finish the series. The sixth season was thought to be created and was written but was canceled due to the purchase of LucasFilm by Disney. The Star Wars: The Clone Wars film was made as an introduction to the series. Seasons 1 and 2 of the series had as many as 3 million to 4 million viewers, and in seasons 3 and 4 the number of viewers was around 1 to 2 million. Star Wars: The Clone Wars generally received positive public reception. The series also aired on TNT but was removed from the program lineup due to low views. After Disney bought LucasFilm, the contract with Cartoon Network ended, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars was canceled. This went on for several years between October 3, 2008, and March 1, 2013. During its last season on the network, it aired on Saturday mornings at 9:30 am.
